Macdonald Burlington Hotel Birmingham, Birmingham

The hotel has its highs and lows. The location is excellent, right by New Street Station and perfect for those wanting to explore Birmingham city center. However, the rooms were not up to standard due to the noisy air con unit, making it difficult to sleep at night.

I had a bit of a mixed experience at this hotel. While the location was fantastic, right in the heart of Birmingham city centre and close to the train station, the rooms had a few issues like noise from the street, dusty environment, and non-functional fridge. The service was generally good, but there were some lapses in bar service. The dining was satisfactory, but I wished for more variety at breakfast. Overall, it's a place with character but needs some improvements.

The hotel is conveniently located right next to the train station in the city center, which is perfect for exploring Birmingham, but the breakfast experience was quite odd. The rooms were a bit worn, facing challenges with heating, and the TV layout was not ideal.

My stay at the hotel was a mix of positives and negatives. The rooms were large and comfortable, equipped with everything I needed, but the noise was quite bothersome. The service was a bit inconsistent, with some staff being extremely friendly while others were hard to reach. The location was excellent for travel, right opposite Birmingham New Street station, but some extra charges for dining were unexpected. The dining experience was good overall, with fresh food options, but service was a bit slow. The facilities were adequate, but there were some issues with the rooms smelling damp and outdated.

The hotel was surprisingly spacious and exceptionally clean, providing a warm and comfortable stay. However, the experience was slightly marred by the dusty and malfunctioning fridge and the constant squeak of the bathroom fan.
